Been doing yoga so hard that i hurt most of the time, and feel wrung out. Been frustrated with the landlord. Left an aggressive phone message about his string of fumbling failures. Told him he's going to step up. My research suggests the guy got property from his dad, went through a divorce or something, prefers making fine cheese on his cow farm, and tries not to get sued. He allegedly yells. He obviously blunders, like he did yesterday. You can read my dealings with him at steil_and_steil. If he would bring me cheese, I would talk with him kindly while enjoing fresh cheese. But I haven't asked for cheese. I've asked for him to do his job. And to Stop Fucking Up.

Brad's LJ through simple features and Intelligent Design still kinda works even with internet of shit. and does not expose me to advertising.

Dear John,

I wanted to drop you a quick note about a major policy change here at the Democratic Party.
As we move toward the general election, the Democratic Party has to be the Party of ordinary Americans, not Washington lobbyists and special interests. So, as of this morning, if you're a federal lobbyist, or if you control political action committee donations, we won't be accepting your contribution.

This is an unprecedented move for a political party to make -- one that has sent shockwaves through Washington and has turned the debate on clean campaigns upside down. We've unilaterally agreed to shut lobbyists out of the process, and are we're relying on people just like you.

Blah blah blah
Will you join us and make a contribution right now to help us elect Barack Obama?

No, but the populists have already won. I hate calling shit early, but... you know. The party is on its game. Now take a bath.

I'm feeling really wrung out, pained, and kinda cross-eyed lately,
looking for the right answer, looking in a mirror,
planetary turbulence shaking the frame.

I am going to work at my job for two straight months. I chose this today. It was a sound decision. Next year will be next year's decisions. I'm dispirited though.

Today a guy actually told me that so-and-so has power, so-and-so isn't a guy you can fight with. (So-and-so is the landlord.) It was early in the morning and I felt groggy but it's true, the guy was telling me so-and-so has "backing". Like Bogle and Gates has a forcefield for so-and-so. And I just looked at the guy so cock-headed, like, "No... seriously... he's not much." And now I feel like the situation has evolved into charity, me showing this guy how fatso's go thump. He's like the handyman, he's afraid of his boss, and he hilariously told me to humble myself. Are you hearing me? He said I ought to humble myself. I barked off why he's full of shit, in about eight sentences. Failure can lick my balls.

There have been times, in business settings and intimate relationships, where I've taken a stand that nobody understood but me, sometimes deeply unpopular or strange (just unexplained) stands, or seemingly self-destructive stands, and I've held to them, even ending relationships and limiting horizons. Actually, my boss and I talked about this yesterday: How things happen for reasons during hard negotiations. Parties agree, or they disagree, but it happens for reasons only semi-mystical. If I want a pink balloon, I can ask for one. And if they won't give me one, I can walk away. Just for a pink balloon.

I am torn about my life, its strangeness and despair. I'm confused when I can't or shouldn't be. The only answer I want is: Work the machine hard each night. I give so much. I have to prioritize. But I'm lost. Lately pretty lost. I'm confused about everything.

I just need to work hard.

To Steil & Steil,

At 8:20pm, B. strand opened the oven for his pizza. It exploded into a roaring ball of white electricity. Strand was cornered by the fireball for five seconds. It stopped, but then stared again. I yelled his name. "strand, get out of there. Get out of there now!" The roar stopped. The sparks were gone. We carefully went out for pizza.

At 8:26pm, I called 733-1421, the emergency contact number for Steil & Steil, requesting an immediate call back.

This morning at 9am, I will dial 564-3709 and talk to Shirley. I expect the professionals at Steil and Stiel to spring into action, resolve the dangerous situation, and provide a specific, mutually agreeable timeline for appliance replacement. But if necessary, I'll call the fire department.

We prefer a red stove, or black, but really we want the red.

Sincerely,

mcfnord
